Garmin Connect Privacy Policy

Overview

SpeedyStride integrates with Garmin Connect to deliver workouts to your Garmin device and track your training progress. This policy explains how we handle data in connection with our Garmin integration.

How the Integration Works

SpeedyStride connects to your Garmin Connect account via OAuth. There is no separate SpeedyStride app to install on your Garmin device. Workouts sync directly to Garmin Connect and appear on your watch automatically.

Information We Send to Garmin

When you sync a workout, SpeedyStride sends the following to Garmin Connect via the Training API:

  • Workout program data (intervals, steps, repetitions)
  • Target metrics (pace, heart rate, cadence)
  • Workout name and description

This data is stored in your Garmin Connect account and syncs to your Garmin device.

Information We Receive from Garmin

  • Workout completion status
  • Workout duration
  • Workout distance
  • Calories burned during a workout
  • Workout completion timestamp
  • GPS or location data during your workout
  • Lactate threshold and other performance metrics

We use this data to help customize your training plan and display your workout history in SpeedyStride.

Account Linking

When you connect your Garmin account, we store:

  • Your Garmin Connect user ID
  • An OAuth token to maintain the connection

We do not receive or store your Garmin password.

Data Storage

Activity completion data received from Garmin is stored on SpeedyStride servers to display your training history and track plan progress. This data is retained for as long as your account is active.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your Garmin data with third parties. Your data is used solely to provide SpeedyStride's functionality.

Your Choices

Disconnect Garmin: You can disconnect your Garmin account from SpeedyStride at any time in your account settings. This stops future workout syncing and activity tracking.

Revoke access in Garmin Connect: You can also revoke SpeedyStride's access directly in your Garmin Connect account settings. You can choose to only use the Training API to receive workouts, and disable the Activity sharing to prevent SpeedyStride from receiving data about your completed workout.

Delete your account: Contact sung@speedystride.com to request account deletion. Your data will be removed within 30 days.

Third-Party Terms

Your use of Garmin Connect is governed by Garmin's terms and privacy policy. SpeedyStride is not responsible for Garmin's handling of your data within their platform.
